  • A Top enterprise networking podcast

You won’t go wrong adding first Packet Pushers’ network break as your first stop of the week for all things enterprise networking. Hosts are well researched and experienced, running through the stories of the week. The other shows are great too and more theme-specific.

  • Greg’s “Fart” and “Centaur” Metaphors Earn 5 Stars

    First NB episode of 2023:

Greg compares the ability to spot someone using a ChatGBT result as akin to being able to identify the guilty party in a silent but violent offense. 😆

Later in the episode, he compares the body of a Centaur to an AiOps model. 🤯

  • Great for a beginner like me

I’ve been listening for about a year now and great for me morning and afternoon commute.

I’m just getting into the IT world after working in OT (manufacturing automation) for a while. This keeps me up to date on the latest news and gives me technology topics to looks up later and provokes some thought. :)

HN813: What Should Networkers Know About Software Development (and Vice Versa)?
Q: If you could insert a week's worth of classes into a developer lesson around networking, what would you want them to have familiarity with?
Developers should understand that not all networks are well maintained and that they must account for network variations in their applications.
HN813: What Should Networkers Know About Software Development (and Vice Versa)?
Q: What do developers wish network engineers understood?
Developers generally want the network to be seamless and not worry about the underlying complexities, expecting it to just work.
D2DO293: Haskell in the Modern Day
Q: Is Haskell dated in a way that you're having to do a lot of workarounds to make it work like a modern language?
Both the language and tooling have kept up to date; it's not considered a legacy language like COBOL but maintains a niche focused user base.
D2DO293: Haskell in the Modern Day
Q: If someone were interested in getting more involved with the Haskell community, how would they go about doing that?
The Haskell open-source community is decentralized, but newcomers can start by visiting community forums like haskell.org discourse or attending local Haskell meetups.
D2DO293: Haskell in the Modern Day
Q: What type of applications would I typically write with Haskell?
Haskell is a general-purpose language but excels in complex domain modeling, particularly in business contexts where rules and constraints need to be managed effectively.
