I have a question for the guys on super friends Saturday. Do you think that the act of praying two the dead Saints for intercession, which is wrong ,is that actually the same thing as necromancy? I think that it is very similar ,if not the same. I’d love to hear what you guys think.

Here is a Particular Baptist, yes Dr. Clark a Baptist, who listens to and enjoys the Heidelcast and is encouraged and refreshed by the excellent content, even when I disagree (which isn’t often) :-)

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Heidelcast: Missions: with Chad Vegas and Chris Gordon
Q: Can you give us a synopsis of what you said to the students about evangelism, witness, and so forth?
Chad discussed the importance of the pastor's life in evangelism, the role of the church in making Christ known globally, and provided an overview of Thomas Boston's 'Fishes of Men'.
Heidelminicast: It's a Long Trip From Münster to Geneva
Q: If you could be a bit more lucid on what you term essential Reformed doctrines, I would be grateful.
Scott Clark acknowledges the struggle of navigating the nuances between differing views within the Reformed tradition and emphasizes the importance of referring back to the Reformed Confessions as the standard for what it means to be Reformed.
Heidelcast: Superfriends Saturday: How Do We Reconcile the Republication of the Covenant of Works at Sinai with the Westminster Confession of Faith 7.5?
Q: Could you explain how you, and perhaps the super friends, would understand this teaching of the Confession?
The Mosaic Covenant is substantially a covenant of grace, but it has a dual character, being both an administration of the covenant of grace and a pedagogical republication of the covenant of works.
Heidelcast: Superfriends Saturday: Do Humans Have Intrinsic Value Before God?
Q: How do we deal with being made in the image of God?
We can recognize that human beings have intrinsic worth because they are created in God's image, even while acknowledging their sinful nature.
Heidelcast: Superfriends Saturday: A Practical Approach to Natural Law - How Do We Know When Scripture is Speaking to Only Nature or Only to Grace or to Both?
Q: How do we know when scripture is speaking only to nature or only to grace or to both?
We should appeal to natural knowledge and make rational arguments about civil issues. We must recognize that scripture indeed addresses natural law but often focuses on matters of salvation and ethical ruptures, which natural understanding alone cannot resolve.
