It’s a well cast and well written story. The mother is far from likeable and that is the point. I found myself listening during my free time and finished all six episodes in less than a week.
Kelsey’s story goes from physical and psychological torture to being groomed for sexual abuse. Do not listen if child abuse and child sexual exploitation disturb you.
It this story seemed rushed, with limited character development. (And I’m confused about the doc being from Massachusetts, but speaking with an English accent - what did I miss?)
It was entertaining, until the 6th episode and I bailed.
Seems like a glorification of abuse, honestly. And then 1/4 of the play time is ads. Wish I hadn’t wasted my time.
If anything like this has ever happened to anyone that listening, then they know that this is exactly how it goes.
The plot is predictable until it convinces you it’s not. Then it’s predictable again, before it convinces you that it’s not again.
The occasionally shaky, unraveled storytelling is telling you just how the main character’s brain is working
