  • Mastery Isn’t Talent — It’s Training on Purpose

What resonated deeply with me was how this episode revealed a truth too few acknowledge: greatness isn’t an accident — it’s a commitment to disciplined refinement. Watching how Cristiano Ronaldo built his edge through training instead of waiting for talent to catch up reminded me that mastery is less about gifts and more about ruthless consistency and standards. Inspiring, humble, and real.

  • Insufferable

Jake’s voice grates when the constant over advertising is shoehorned in way to much. On top of that they let the likes of Sadiq Khan on to what’s is supposed to be a high performance podcast. A man who is quite literally destroying our great city of London. Considering Jake is meant to be a journalist he never digs adequately into someone’s story and real pain points that listeners want to hear. Can’t stand the hosts or their woke approach.

Barry Hearn: How I Still Wake Up Every Day Hungry to Win
Q: If you were given 30 seconds or a minute in front of a bunch of young people, what do you say to drive that message home to them?
Encourage young people to find their dreams and pursue them actively.
Barry Hearn: How I Still Wake Up Every Day Hungry to Win
Q: How important then, Barry, do you think humility is?
Barry highlights that humility is recognizing one's importance in the bigger picture while maintaining self-belief.
Sir Gareth Southgate: The Truth About Leaving England (E380)
Q: What is the secret to delivering that kind of news, particularly when it's a winner like Wayne Rooney?
I think there are different types of tough conversation. So there's tough performance conversations where you're probably going to be with us for the next few games, Jake. But we need more. So I need to highlight that firstly, where do you see your performance?
Sir Gareth Southgate: The Truth About Leaving England (E380)
Q: Did you understand it at all? Or was it just confusing? Like, why is this the narrative around a successful team, the most successful teams in South Ramsey?
Well, that's logical to take that view. And of course, part of me would definitely think that that would be a fairer way to look at it.
Sir Gareth Southgate: The Truth About Leaving England (E380)
Q: So you didn't feel lonely?
I had brilliant staff around me. Yeah. So you're never succeeding on your own. You're constantly drawing on good people around you.
