  • Johnny and Damon

Love the new pod with Damon and Johnny. So good to hear these guys back again. Unashamed British bias is what we love.

  • Unbiased & Factual

I’ve been listening to this podcast for around 2 years now and I would have to say they are the best out there for a detailed and unbiased opinion of F1. They condemn drivers when necessary and applaud drivers when deserved. Their race insights are always interesting to hear, and they’re good at tackling the race members questions.

I’ve seen a lot of reviews focused on bias which has encouraged me to review myself as I believe this is totally inaccurate. As a Verstappen fan I’ve had to listen t... more

  • Weirdly angry at a question about nationalist bias

They lost me when they semi-confirmed that there is a “British media bias” with how perturbed they became at an Oscar vs. Norris Papaya Rules question. Just looking at the sum of all the decisions, more “Papaya Rules” decisions have fallen in Norris’ favor at Piastri’s expense.

But alas, dun dun dun duh - Max Verstappen!

  • Stop including race results in episode title, please!

This is an informative podcast, for sure. Although it does sometimes seem like they are holding back on what they really think for fear of being blacklisted by teams (namely, Red Bull). My biggest peeve is that they include the race results in the episode title. So if you delay in watching the race, you’ll know the results if you happen to open your podcast app. For this reason, I’ve unsubscribed and will manually check for new episodes.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Tech Show: Will team principal role blunt Newey's technical powers?
Q: Can you explain the relationship between the Titanium skid blocks and the plank?
The plank starts at 10 millimeters thick and wears down by 1 millimeter at most. Skid blocks are integrated and designed to wear at the same rate as the plank, which prevents discrepancies in measurement and maintains safety standards.
Tech Show: Will team principal role blunt Newey's technical powers?
Q: How does the low grip relate to Piastri's difficulties with the Pirelli tires?
Piastri's struggles stem from learning to optimize car management on different grip levels, particularly learning to avoid overdriving on low-grip tracks, which can lead to overheating tires and performance detriment.
Qatar GP: Verstappen pounces as McLaren self-sabotage
Q: What does your journalistic integrity mean in an era where some people will do almost anything to generate more clicks?
Integrity is crucial; the aim is to provide accurate information and explanations rather than sensationalism.
Qatar GP: Verstappen pounces as McLaren self-sabotage
Q: Did McLaren just think they had so much pace that not pitting when everyone else did didn't matter?
Yes, McLaren believed they had a significant pace advantage which influenced their decision-making.
HILL & HERBERT: Lando's title push, tearing up the racing rulebook, and Ferrari's 'talk less' turmoil
Q: Would you rather be racing in today's car/era or are you glad you raced when you did?
Both Johnny and Damon agree that they prefer the era they raced in, appreciating the physical demands and driver focus it required.
