  • Great podcast but stop interrupting!

I find Skye’s podcasts so insightful and French Fridays in particular help me put words behind much of what I believe. But am I the only one who is so distracted and frankly annoyed by how much Skye interrupts his guests?! It feels so disrespectful and self-important.

  • Pseudo Intellectualism and open dishonest

Skye Jethani illustrates why participation in Christian Supremacy should not be trusted. Consider his position on technology; as I summarize it “Internet is destructive and evil.” Perhaps he is correct as he uses the Internet to condemn those who do not follow his brand. Like all Christians, he considers himself chosen by God and those who disagree with him condemned to hell.

  • Thank you Skye!

French Friday has been one of my favorite all-time podcasts. Thank you for doing this each month. It’s helping me maintain sanity. For those of us who grew up conservative and have been trying to navigate through the morass of circumstances the last five years this has been a lifeline to me and my family. Thank you!

  • Too important to put behind a paywall

Just listened to the free part of the episode with Chris Crawford. I’d love to share it, but the people who need it most may not be the ones who will subscribe. If all our content is subscription only we will be even more stuck in our silos

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The SkyePod - Alan Hirsch
Q: How do you see the Great Commission being abused?
It has been misinterpreted as a call solely for evangelism rather than making disciples, which requires teaching obedience to Jesus.
The SkyePod - Alan Hirsch
Q: Is there a danger in being too focused on growth and multiplication?
Yes, focusing too much on growth can lead to unhealthy church cultures that use people for growth instead of genuinely nurturing discipleship.
The SkyePod - Alan Hirsch
Q: What are some of those inherited frameworks that you think are problematic?
Many ways of thinking about church are legacy understandings based on a merging of church and state since Constantine's era, leading to an outdated view of the church's mission.
The SkyePod - Temple Theology (Rerelease)
Q: Why is the assumption that temple theology is irrelevant for New Testament Christians wrong?
The temple is crucial for understanding God's presence in the context of the entire biblical narrative, as it allows us to grasp the continuity between the Old and New Testaments.
The SkyePod - Paul Putz
Q: What role did the YMCA play in this relationship?
The YMCA captured the essence of muscular Christianity, promoting physical activity and sports as integral to faith.
