  • A PodcastYou Can’t Refuse (or A Hero Will Rise)

Alexei, you are my hero. I have recently become a devotee of The Last Video store and just finished listening to each and every episode and have ticked off almost all of the films therein during my life and will endeavour to watch all that you recommend.

My picks: New release - Train Dreams. Weekly’s - There Will Be Blood & The Thing (1982)

  • I wanted a Staff Pick and all I got was this excellent podcast

To call Alexei the Australian equivalent of Patton Oswalt is an understatement- equally funny and charming, but our friendly neighbourhood video store clerk might just beat him out for a god-level encyclopaedic knowledge of cinema. Gregg Turkington could learn a thing or two from him, as well!

So glad I finally got round the listening to this podcast, it’s now become my happy place. Brings back happy memories of visiting Jerry’s Video on West Hill in Portishead, UK as a kid. Listening from Milw... more

  • Are you guys still doing 10 weekly’s for $10?

I know you saw me drop this one while I was trying to put it in the drive by returns slot, but the plastic case was already cracked like that when I got it.

If you guys just going to throw out that Terminator 2 cardboard stand can I just have it?

    I’ll just take a few weekly’s:

    - Robin Hood: Men in Tights

    - Waterworld

    - Clue -The Movie

    And a new release:

    - The Bad Guys 2.

I’ll also take one of those stale bags of caramel popcorn.

Do you have any recommendations for me?

    ❤️❤️❤️

  • For movie lovers with open arms

From Aussie film greats like David Wennam to Mr Mark “SpeedRacer” Bonnano, Alexi brings a good heart and humour to genuine discussions from people who really love movies!

I can’t help myself from offering my own pics at the view store

For a new release I choose Alex Garland’s psych thriller “Men”

And for my two weeklies I have to go for two of my all time favs “Austin Powers: International man of Mystery” and the robot cop himself “RoboCop”
