I was a student at Covenant Seminary from 2014 - 2017, and heard about the murder through a co-worker while I was there. However, I never knew the details and so this podcast was really helpful to learn more. The hosts seemed to be pretty honest and fair with their reporting, even correcting themselves at times, which I appreciated. However in their commentaries I often felt they were a bit unfair in their judgments toward the Seminary and the hosts often seemed to have a personal axe to grind a... more
I really enjoyed this podcast. Being from St. . Louis, I loved the interviews with the local police. I had no idea this murder occurred. The creators did an excellent job of keeping you guessing, which to me means s really intriguing podcast. Wish they could do another one.
I think this podcast did a great job diving into a difficult subject. There was no way they were gonna make everyone happy, which is evident by some of the ridiculous and childish reviews. They handle the murder of Elizabeth with grace and humility, and instead of just glossing over some of the abysmal practices of the pca, they highlight those and illuminate the injustices they produce. This podcast is not entertaining, its designed to be informative and to spur conversations, with which it suc... more
This podcast is an engrossing story of an unsolved murder. As a woman who lived most of my life attending PCA churches, I deeply related to all they shared about the treatment of women in the denomination. (My family & I are now in a different denomination largely due to this issue). I have a number of close friends who attended CTS & knew very little (if anything) about the story of Elizabeth Mackintosh. I thank the hosts for their work and everyone who shared.
Did not have the impression this podcast series honored Elizabeth Mackintosh in any way. Final episodes seemed like a weird, creepy, unsubstantiated smear of a dead guy and his surviving family members. Podcasters stated David Winecoff called his pregnant wife a whale; podcasters speculated he had mental illness or Huntingtons. Podcasters brought on a guest, who took bizarre, casual, snide, and angry digs at David Winecoff and who basically whined about being purportedly bullied into being David... more
