On a January night in 1995, 18-year-old Christa Pike and two other teenagers lured 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer to a secluded area near the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. They taunted, beat, and slashed Colleen, carving a pentagram into her chest, before Christa picked up a piece of concrete and smashed Colleen’s skull, killing her. Those salacious details stood out during a national Satanic P... more

Not impressed. This only made me angry. This girl pre-meditated this murder telling people she was going to do it and then had every opportunity to change her mind then lured this girl to her murder. I’m sorry this young lady had a bad childhood that was abusive and was failed by the system but there are lots of people who had abusive childhoods that don’t plan and carry out murders. I am not particularly for the death penalty but this podcast trying to paint sympathy for this girl is ridiculous... more
First, I am against the death penalty. People have been executed who were in fact innocent. I absolutely support restorative justice.
Krista Pike did not garner my sympathy beyond her mental illness, abuse & neglect as a child. I saw no real remorse from her. Her concern is for herself. Her one very perfunctory expression of remorse showed no true acceptance of responsibility. I’m disgusted with Beth Kara’s’ treatment of Colleen Slemmer’s mother, May Martinez. The implication that she should be... more
This show has more ads than content. I know ads are necessary but this is ridiculous.
There’s as much time dedicated to horrible commercials as there is to the story! It’s not worth the pain required to get thru it.
I gave 3 stars because I like to hear all different view points and it’s interesting but this is insane. By the logic used in this podcast I wonder if we should ever lock someone up ever? They keep saying it doesn’t make the victim whole- well duh! The crime can’t be undone! They make it sound like locking people up doesn’t solve a problem. It does- it gets criminals off the streets. Also I expect this podcast wouldn’t exist if the roles were reversed and it was a 18 year old boy who committed t... more
