  • Regarding the Hoyt–Schermerhorn Subway Train Station

The Hoyt-Schermerhorn subway train station featured in “The Wiz” is a famous large multi-train track subway station with a section that is decommissioned and is used in many film and tv programs that need a NYC subway station location.

  • Goodfellas ep

Don’t listen to it. Amy’s worst ep because she dislikes the film for really dumb reasons, just to get a rise. I respect it, but she couldn’t pull back from her take and it sunk her performance. Great podcast though! Especially the AFI List.

  • Great movie podcast

I’ve been listening from the beginning, and find Unspooled enjoyable and informative. I’m surprised by all the 1-2 reviews based on SINGLE episodes.

Though I’m intrigued by the person who felt their Goodfellas review insulted mafia culture. Like, the main male lead traded one abusive family for another imo.

I just listened to the Misery episode. After hearing their Last Supper comments, I would LOVE an episode on The Last Supper film from the 1990s. It’s basically a left-wing version of Arse... more

  • Usually good, but

Normally Insightful, even five stars. But your One Thing After Another episode was a miss. How did you NOT notice the lack of characterization for POC people, especially the leading actress? This one felt like a view from the white, patriarchy bubble, with insights gleamed straight from the press release.

  • Confounding audio

The Spinal Tap episode has some of the worst audio editing I’ve ever heard on a podcast, talking over clips, playing clips at the wrong queues. I had no idea what I was hearing at times.
