我們在第七章里面講到有四幕戲，今天我們看到這一段只有一幕。在新約福音書里，這可能是最膾炙人口的一個故事，甚至在世俗文化里都有比較大的影響，你會聽到很多人都談到了這個故事。然而，這個故事也可能是在新約福音書里面爭議最大的，或者說對它的解讀，真的是信與不信的人乃至於基督徒、教會，都各自不同。但是這個故事卻打動我們的心，這個故事讓我們看到盼望，讓我們看到恩典。今天我們來看三個問題，第一，在這個故事里面讓我們來看男人；第二，在這個故事里面讓我們來看女人；第三，在這個故事里面讓我們來看耶穌。

約翰福音第七到第九章，記述的是住棚節期間所發生的事。第六章中提到，逾越節已經近了，從逾越節到住棚節大概有半年的時間，以色列人三個最大的節期是逾越節、五旬節和住棚節，住棚節是在秋天。所以半年後，記載了耶穌基督再一次去到耶路撒冷。
從第七章到第九章，我們發現耶穌基督傳道的策略有一點點改變，這次他不是先行神跡再講道，而是先講道再行神跡。我們看到第七章講到生命的活水；第八章講到世界的光；第九章講到他行神跡——叫瞎眼的得看見——來印證他所傳講的福音。
