  • A Hidden Gem

I started listening to this only very recently after having listened to Into the Aether for a year. It’s more like game-adjacent musings and stream of consciousness than a traditional podcast, but that’s what makes it unique. I think Brendon is very well spoken and I appreciate his insight about games and other topics that matter to him. I will continue to listen for as long as he keeps doing Wavelengths.

  • Not Sure About This One

I would consider Into the Aether and NPC (Brendon’s other shows) both to be unique, entertaining in a flooded market. Wavelengths just feels like another gaming podcast.

The January Question Dump
Q: What to you is enough playtime in a game you paid for?
I stopped playing a game when it's not fun anymore. It's like a feeling thing; you just know in that moment when you've nailed it.
The January Question Dump
Q: Is the new Steam controller appealing to you? Would you consider trying it out?
Yes, I want one really bad, especially now that I'm in this like PC world.
The January Question Dump
Q: How do you balance or how do you find the balance between digital and physical for all forms of media ownership?
I tend to lean towards digital for everything. And then physical is for things that really make an impact on me.
Borderlands 4 Performance Woes, Silksong Updates, and a 180 On Game Keycards
Q: Reflecting on Silksong, what are other examples of games where, if we're being honest, unreasonably astronomical expectations were actually met?
Two examples that come to mind. The first one is Elden Ring. The other one is Breath of the Wild.
Chase Allhart on Silksong Discourse, 007, and Kingdom Hearts IV
Q: How was the difficulty of Hollow Knight: Silksong received in the gaming community?
The difficulty sparked a conversation about whether the challenges presented are appropriate, especially for those unfamiliar with the genre.
