The world has never been more connected. Yet never more divided. We yell at each other from inside our echo chambers. But change doesn’t happen inside an echo chamber. It’s time to get out, to stretch our legs, to step on some land mines. It's time to have an uncomfortable conversation with Josh Szeps.

Sydney is shell-shocked after the deadliest terrorist attack ever on Australian soil. Sixteen people are dead and at least 40 wounded after gunmen executed Jewish families celebrating the first night of Hannukah at Australia's most famous beach.

The image of a singular political leader is misleading. Why? Because they can barely function without a team behind them. Chief among that team, being their Chief of Staff: part strategist, part consigliere, part javelin-catcher.
But the real job is... more
If you're ethically conflicted about industrial animal farming, this episode is a shot of hope. Shaming people into going vegan doesn't work. What does?

Bluffing, double-crossing, predicting, testing your enemy. The mind games of international relations are wildly complex. And at the end of the day, the outcome of the next major conflict will be decided not by military questions but by psychological ... more

I have been a fan of this podcast for a few years and recently became a subscriber. I love Josh’ views on most topics. Now that I subscribe, it’s really fun to go back to the beginning of his library and listen to the stuff that was topical then. Trump 1.0, vaccines, AI before chatgpt - awesome lol. It’s like a Time Capsule where we are living the results in real time. Recommend to everyone!
Josh *is* willing to explore complex topics. But he needs to reflect on his attitude to women - older women esp.
In the Prof Robert Wintemute episode he seems to imply that a man’s feelings about himself (his “dignity”) are worth more than women’s (i.e. over 50 % of the population’s) rights to privacy, security, safety - and their simple desire to not accommodate men.
Interesting too who he interviews (a male human rights expert who dissents from the orthodoxy) and who he doesn’t (any of the... more
Josh’s podcasts are lively, interesting and informative. Confrontation, collaboration, impartiality, distance and understanding are all par for the course as he tackles the leading issues of the day.
As a former centrist left schooled in political science at the feet of such academics as Elaine Thompson and Donald Horne I empathise with his need for egalitarianism and equality. Yet I feel at times he fails to identify with the ever increasing rights point of view and position. As he ages perhap... more
Josh Szeps is the worst interviewer - talks over the interviewee, doesn’t listen, interjects with trite nonsense. Slugged through this episode loving Cameron Murray but hating Josh Szeps.
What drivel. Oh yes the woke left caused this but we’ll be okay because I, Josh, am cushioned by money and status. Experts need to explain better, eh? (Maybe it’s just that almost half the population is incredibly stupid) Oh and this - whoever this dude is feels an “ennui” that his grandfather somehow didn’t feel when he was sent to war? What on earth are you talking about? Ugh.
