Through every iteration I’ve loved and enjoyed this podcast.

I’m devastated to learn that Alonso Duralde hates Life of Chuck, but his incredibly wrong opinion on this subjective medium has inspired me to at last leave my first review of any podcast- 5 stars, top notch, they can do no wrong in my eyes, even when hating a movie I loved.

If this review contradicts itself very well, then it contradicts itself. Like the rotating lineup of talented folks on this podcast over the years, and Chuck’s... more

  • Heretic episode, barely talked about the movie??

I was excited to listen to the Heretic ep with Ross. But they BARELY talked about the film. They could have really leaned into Ross’s knowledge of religion. There is so much to unpack in this film… 100% disappointed. First and last episode I will ever listen to of this pod. I absolutely hate when pods dont talk about the topic they advertise.

  • Love this podcast love these people

What keeps me coming back to this podcast? Is it Ify’s taste in movies and horniness on main? Is it Alonso’s dedication to Holiday Hallmark movies? Is it Midwest princess Drea’s Minnesotan accent peeping out? Yes! Yes to all! Plus they are insightful and fun and funny people. Love their dynamic. And love that they cover movies that aren’t always the most mainstream. Way to go y’all! Also Ify, I’m loving your part in Never Stop Blowing Up on Drop out. Incredible.

Episode #437: 'The Chronology of Water' with Roxane Gay & Alain Martin
Q: Did this film sort of meet, or for those of you who are familiar with her, did it meet or match the expectations you might have had with seeing her work on screen?
Given the source material, Kristen Stewart did a phenomenal job, but she almost did too good of a job by being too faithful to the book, making it hard to follow for those who haven't read it.
Episode #436: MARTY SUPREME is a Real A**hole
Q: Drea, would you mind giving us a brief synopsis of Marty Supreme?
Marty Supreme is a movie set in the 50s following Marty Mauser, a ping pong champion with a chaotic personal life who is drawn into affairs and questionable decisions as he attempts to reach championship level.
Episode #434: 'The Baltimorons' with Ben Katzner
Q: What did you think of 'The Baltimorons'?
I thought it had depth, great humor, and a unique take on relationships during Christmas.
Episode #421: 'The Long Walk' with Lauren Shippen
Q: What did you all think of the pairing of the two main characters?
It's a beautiful platonic love story, highlighting their deep bond in a horrifying situation.
Episode #419: 'Highest 2 Lowest' with W. Kamau Bell
Q: Who would play in a remake of classic films?
Denzel Washington could embody characters in many classic films, including roles traditionally held by Samuel L. Jackson.
