These guys give writing advice (or writing adjacent advice) in a laid back atmosphere. I’m sad to see that the show is no longer on the air!
some of the audio kept cutting out so I couldn't hear everything but the advice is great I also watch the YouTube advice from jed hern

I love this podcast it has really helped my evolve my writing and am really sad they stopped making new episodes 😢
I started with 3.42 because I’m a fan of Legend’s and Lattes but had to turn it off because one of the hosts just kept talking over the guest. The poor guy was trying to tell his story about self publishing his book and then signing with Tor but the host thought it was a better idea if HE told the guy’s story. If you’re going to have guests, ask questions and let them talk. Easy enough!
Just Write it. Stumbled across this podcast by chance. I had been searching out advice to get out of a writing slump. The best advice found within this podcast are “just write it” of course no one says that, but it’s necessary to summarize many encouraging words into a few. Who cares if someone will read your work, Just Write It.
As an on-again, off-again writer, this podcast is one that always provides a little motivation when I’m stuck in a rut. It also offers witty commentary, good book recommendations, and comforting banter about writing, between writers (and come on, most of us don’t have a group of writer friends to talk about writing with). The advice and tips and little suggestions about writing that are sprinkled in the episodes are fantastic because the hosts are just amazing- each of them has a different appro... more
Really informative, fun, and inspiring podcast! Covering really interesting topics, really helping me move forward on my own authoring journey, and really making me laugh.
The guys are funny, irreverent, and thought provoking!
Keep it up, lads.
I like to shop around for podcasts and this is the BEST podcast in its category. I’m a new author, and I’ve noticed many other Podcasts are huge on telling artists what NOT to do. It can be very limiting when you first start out as a writer to hear other ‘professionals’ disparage something that inspires you to write. These podcast wizards don’t fall into this line of thinking. Instead, they tell you how to do the thing right! Not necessarily their favorite trope, writing style, or genre? No prob... more
I just started listening to your podcast. I’m making an attempt at writing a first novel (fantasy of course). Thanks for sharing the insight, tricks and tips you’ve learned along the way. I could easily listen to full hour episodes. Thanks !
A friendly, relaxed and often revealing podcast about the craft of writing speculative fiction, with an emphasis on self publishing. Lots of helpful hints and tips, dos and donts, based on the real world experience of all four hosts. Special shout-out to fellow Aussie and main host Jed, who wrangles his grizzled compatriots with tenacity and good humour!
I’ve been trying to write several books for years, but more recently I’ve been really serious about it. I found this podcast to help with my writing and it has done more than that. They help motivate me with great ideas of how to write, what to write about, and what to do when I can’t write. If you’re in a lull or experience writers block, listen to this podcast!
Great variety of content that appeals to both writers and anybody with a general interest in fantasy books. Love the writing advice episodes and hope more trunk novel episodes are in the works.
Even though the focus is on writing (and I’m not a writer, through someday…?) I find it fascinating as a fan to listen to four writers discuss many aspects of the genre and of writing. If you like a behind-the-scenes look, this is worth checking out.
I was seeking advice for writing my first book (after having an idea and not much else), and found it and then some in this podcast.
These guys are not only well seasoned writers - they’re the hardcore fantasy nerds with pearls of wisdom I didn’t know I was looking for.
I fully recommend to other aspiring authors, as well as those looking for world/character building inspiration.
Thank you for the vote of confidence, onto the next chapter..
