Discovering ourself, and our history, is hard in a world dominated by those who want to control the way we think and feel. This podcast gives a good voice to those who seek to remember what the powers that be, simply don’t want us to remember.
The podcast is well organized, educational, and most importantly continues the project of telling working class history.
Loved this first episode on T Bone Slim, it’s so important to recover these working class voices from, to quote E P Thompson, the ‘condescension of history’. Great discussion from Owen Clayton of motifs of hunger and feeding in T Bone’s work and beautiful interpretations of his songs from John Westmoreland. Looking forward to more of this.
The culture created by the working class has shaped and continues to shape our lives. We need more podcasts like this to take a deep dive into that culture and bring those stories and that history - ours stories and our history - to as wide an audience as possible. This one is well worth your time.
Absolutely loved the first episode and looking forward to more! So interesting but also incredibly thoughtful and moving. Gorgeous podcast
An excellent addition to the valuable Working Class History podcast. It's informative and intelligent without being academic and tedious. Highly recommended
