  • Great Stuff but could be longer

I’ve been trying to find a world building podcast that sort of helps to generate motivation for my own writing, and was really happy to find this! Your Land of a Thousand Gods was an absolute joy to listen to and I’ve since listened to more recent episodes (2024, when I joined) and cherry picked some older ones. You’re all very talented writers. I just wish episodes were a bit longer, as I feel things like the Crimson Court world weren’t given enough depth. Other than that, keep up the good work... more

  • The Best Way to Improve Your Worldbuilding Chops

This is one of the best, if not the best, worldbuilding podcasts I've found out there. Not only are these guys intertaning, but they take you through their process of worldbuilding over and over again as they rapidly build worlds, races, cultures, factions, and more. Getting to see, or rather hear, them go through the steps has helped me come up with my own ideas and improve my worldbuilding over all.

Episode 267: Bend the Knee to Our Undead Kings (Land of a Thousand Finales Part 2)
Q: What themes are you interested in exploring for your undead king?
My theme revolves around resurrection or renewal in the price of immortality, with a focus on how the moral implications of these pursuits shape the character's journey.
Episode 262: This Episode Wasn't Supposed to Happen (Questions with a Thousand Answers)
Q: Would you say, though, I took this question to mean when you're doing worldbuilding in general, not necessarily in our podcasts?
No, I would still say no, I think.
Episode 262: This Episode Wasn't Supposed to Happen (Questions with a Thousand Answers)
Q: What kind of system would you, are you thinking like people are jamming like crystals into themselves?
I would answer the question by saying that something placed in the body, as external to it, would be interesting.
Episode 262: This Episode Wasn't Supposed to Happen (Questions with a Thousand Answers)
Q: What question from our patrons do you want to answer first?
I feel like you're perhaps most prepared for this. What is the question that you want to answer first?
Episode 238: What We Do in the Shadow Plane (Realm of a Thousand Shades Part 1)
Q: So, was there before these people came to this plane, was there any other living creatures or anything like that?
Debating whether the Shadow Plane has existed for all of eternity or was created through the use of portals.
