  • Offensive

I enjoyed this podcast and the topic on “unschooling” until the guest speaker suggested that black people may have their own educational groups where whites aren’t allowed because they want to be free of the “white gaze” and want to be in their “safe space” suggesting that me and my children and others that have white skin are unsafe because of what color we are. That’s fortunate and highly offensive. I think if we had such a group where blacks were excluded for any reason then we’d be looked do... more

  • My #1 Parenting Podcast

I just discovered Jen Lumanlan via a friend through her book, Parenting Beyond Power, which is frankly, life changing. Her entire approach to parenting and educating kids is what the world needs: collaboration, compassion, respect. I can’t get enough.

  • My favourite podcast!

It just keeps getting better and better over the years. I have learnt so much. She’s moved on a lot from her first podcasts about Rie parenting. She’s knows her stuff but is learning along with us as and I love her for that. Her passion for research is great for us parents who are overworked and burnt out. We can delegate all the parenting research to her.

  • My all-time favorite

I’ve been listening to parenting podcasts for several years now, and this was the first one I started with — and it's the one I always come back to! Jen covers such a wide range of topics that there’s almost always an episode that speaks to my questions. The podcast is often thought-provoking, and even when I don’t fully agree with an episode, it still helps me reflect on my own perspectives and adjust (or not) my parenting accordingly.

  • This show.

Love it and Jen’s valuable work in all things parenting. Relevant, ever filled with simple strategies to parent in alignment with my values AND sometimes staggering perspective on how to shift patterns/improve family dynamics. Unequivocally my go-to. Must-listen.
