李忠憲表示，中國過去透過合資強迫外企釋出技術，但科技發展的關鍵在於人類文化與文明精神。美國之所以強大，源於民主自由與人權保障了創意種子，反觀中國在專制監控的環境難以孕育創新。他指出，中國經濟實際上正在衰退，西方國家如歐、美、日已對中國產生戒心，不像過去對中國毫無防備。

李忠憲表示，回顧2015年的反紫光運動，當時中國經濟正好，並正推動中國製造2025，企圖利用國家資本併購台灣最精華的IC設計產業，以填補其晶片技術缺口並削弱台灣的「矽盾」。當時雖然許多人對中國資金持樂觀態度，但他與夥伴意識到這背後的國安風險，極力遊說政府與社會，成功擋下中資入股，保住了產業的自主性。
