I recently read Lisa’s book. I find her experience and advice on the subject very valuable. But 3 mins into her podcast I was so irritated with the affect on her voice. The way she talks is soooooo distracting from the valuable content she has to offer. It sounds so incredibly fake…she’s trying way too hard to come off approachable, sweet, etc which I imagine is very valuable when interfacing with teens girls in therapy. But, please, take on a normal voice without all the affect for us adults wh... more
Ask Lisa cuts through the noise and delivers practical, timely, compassionate advice for parents of teens/tweens. This is the kind of relatable real-talk that feels supportive and insightful. Episode 232 with Rick Clark is a must listen for any parent of a college-age or college-bound teen. Go listen!
I love this podcast and Lisa’s books. Practical and sensible, research backed information, validation, strategies that caregivers and professionals can utilize. I do not enjoy special guest episodes. Too much gushing and it seems like guests introduce interesting topics but then there is very little practical or actionable advice, and questions get partial answers at best. I now skip these episodes.
Thank you so much, I love your podcast! I love your warmth and compassion especially for those young souls. Just one little thing: the main time I have time to listen to podcast is when I go to bed but I can’t listen to yours then as, if by chance I fall asleep, the music at the end of the podcast goes up in volume, and then wakes me up - my only problem as it curtails my listening! Apart from that, it’s a perfect score form me!
I’m glad some folks are getting the content. It’s certainly OK. As for me, I could not get past the extreme breathy voice.
