Robert does a great job of sharing history and keeping it interesting. Guests are great (Margaret and Jamie are my faves) and Sophie holds the madness together perfectly.
I’ve heard this show recommended a lot, so I’ve finally checked it out. I listened to a 90 minute episode and about a a third of the show was way off topic banter. And it wasn’t even good banter, just weird attempts at adult humor. Kind of gross to be talking about this serious subject matter with so many off-color “jokes” interspersed. Now I know why so many people think podcasts are a terrible medium. This is the kind of show that gives them all a bad name.

Unrefined and annoying. It’s worse than listening to nails on a chalkboard.
Robert and Co. Make an intelligent, humors, often painful but perfect podcast. History (and current events) have never been this much fun. Get on the correct side of history, and inform yourself.
