Dave provided a bit of lay non-believer sensibility that I miss. With Rev. Llewelyn-Jones in the seat, it’s just a chat among biblical scholars—one of whom is promoting a book. I canceled my membership.
What a fun way to learn about ancient history — and to hear from expert scholars on all sorts of biblical topics from the Hebrew Scriptures and New Testament. I find I am often listening to episodes several times as there’s so much to take in — so different to what I learned in Sunday School!
I listened intermittently to the show with Dave and Helen. When I learned that LLJ would be the new co-host I was thrilled. He is a fabulous scholar and communicator. Rescued!
Dave Roos leaves, and the FIRST EPISODE Helen and new guy are assuring the audience that yes of course they go to church and dismiss the very content they are dissecting. Absurd, disappointing, bending. This podcast, like writing for “History.com”, is BASED. Pathetic.
I love this podcast but the new expert professor guy is talking way too much. Just like in all podcasts where you have a man and a woman. A shame.
