I downloaded rednote in January and I saw someone recommend Empresses in the Palace. I started watching and immediately became obsessed. I found this podcast about half way through Zhen Huan and when I finished that show I decided to follow along with the pod and watch The Story of Ming Lan. Having loved Chinese dramas since I was little (Journey to the West 1986, anyone?), I appreciate how Karen and Cathy pick out the historical references or little cultural references that I would typically just gloss over when watching. I’m learning but also having fun listening to recaps of some of my favorite shows as well! Highly recommend!
