のぞみはまず、トルストイの人生をざっくりおさらい。 裕福な伯爵家に生まれ、『戦争と平和』を書き、晩年には「私有財産なんていらない」と悟りつつも、実際には家督と財産を背負い続け、最後は82歳で家出して地方の小さな駅で亡くなった——そんな「思想と現実に引き裂かれたおじいちゃん」の姿に、自分の将来をちょっと重ねてみます。
