When auditing risk of management in an E/M note, how are over-the-counter (OTC) medications scored? Under the 1995/1997 guidelines, they were categorized in the “low” risk row. However, the 2021 guidelines provide no examples under minimal or low ris... more
Medical record signatures are more than the macro “electronically signed by Dr. Jack Jones.” A provider’s signature is a legal attestation that the physician or provider performed, reviewed, and/or agreed with the documentation. Is this actually true... more
Across the country, commercial payers are quietly down-coding E/M services without issuing ADRs and without providing notice. Office visit reimbursements are being arbitrarily reduced based on payer algorithms rather than a proper review of documenta... more

Catching up on several of your episodes and had to pause to take a moment to comment. Terry, you’re always spot on with the current issues. My work has been primarily auditing but I am now working on coding and billing as well. I love when you cover all three perspectives. It makes my day when you dive into gray-area coding guidelines as well. I’ve been a fan of your podcast for many years now! Thank you so much. Stay well.

RFK Jr. has gutted public health funding, dismantled scientific advisory boards, forced out vaccine experts, destabilized vital agencies, stacked panels with anti-vaccine activists, promoted debunked treatments, and threatened to silence government scientists. These aren’t just bad opinions—they’re actions that undermine science, research, and disease prevention a... more
We love you Terry<3
The information about medical coding and billing appears accurate, but delivered as it is with petty and poorly informed political ramblings makes one wonder how trustworthy and knowledgeable the podcaster really is.
