M. William Phelps gives the details of the cases he covers in a way that centers the victims’ stories and experiences. He is a victim advocate in the most unequivocal way. Really good storytelling, and unflinching honesty.
A few months back I left a three star review and was sincere. I didn’t care for the hosts pervasive self-congratulatory tone. On delving into episodes from the start of the series, he comes across as more human, less staged, self-important sleuth. I now anticipate the episodes and the show stacks up well with many of the best ones in the genre.
Mr. Phelps speaks like we all would about the miserable people and situations he describes and sounds equally disgusted. Bravo, Phelps!
Love the no BS approach, says what we are all thinking!
Matthew made me actually laugh during this heinous crime story. In no way is he being disrespectful, I believe it’s his natural coping mechanism. I’m certain there are lots of us out there.
