  • Pop Psychology, Pop Philosophy — and Pop Psychiatry! — at Its Worst

This podcast is an under-informed, under-examined, and under-baked meander through topics in psychology, philosophy, psychiatry, sociology, anthropology, and history that the host—and even more surprisingly the guests!—knew precious little about beyond tired (and oft- and well-disproven) clichés and tropes in the popular sphere. There’s no real investigation or depth, or even breadth, of knowledge. We get the usual superficial stories about trauma and institutional oppression and generic spiritu... more

  • Thank you <3

As a healthcare trainee with childhood trauma and family members with severe mental illness, I am so appreciative of the compassionate inquiry and vulnerability of this podcast. I feel ethically challenged in every space in which I am training as I want to provide so much more for patients than I am trained or expected to provide. This podcast helps me to hold on to imaginative possibilities. Thank you for your healing work and sharing this space with listeners.

  • Jazmine’s voice is my calm

Healing and personal growth has been a priority for me since my “breakdown” in my mid-20’s. I’ve been riding through the messy, chaotic rainstorm of the effects of childhood sexual abuse, emotional neglect, grief and betrayal. Then Jazmine comes in, her voice cuddling me like a warm blanket wrapped around my shoulders as I journal in my recliner by the window. I don’t even have the words powerful enough to describe her influence on my journey, all I can say is if you’re going through it too- she... more
