I count down my Top 10 Most Memorable Moments from Final Fantasy VII. Spoilers for the original game and please let me know what I missed down in the comments!

We listen to Nobuo Uematsu's overworld music from Final Fantasy 1, 2, & 3. We compare the 8-bit chiptunes to full orchestrations and even vocal renditions and hear similarities to Joe Hisaishi and Studio Ghibli music.

JACK WHITE - IT MIGHT GET LOUD ... more

Our heroes arrive in Rivendell, home of the Elves, and meet Elrond and a few new companions during the great council to decide the fate of the One Ring.

Plus Elrond gets a little racist and we need to unpack that.

Chocobos, Moogles, Cid, and Crystals. These are but some of the iconic and tangible symbols that make Final Fantasy what it is. Here are my picks for the Top 10.

  • Intelligent Analyses

Too many podcasts suffer from negativity and shallow insights. Not so for Drew and Ira - FF Weekly gives fantastic insight into the stories, themes, characters, and politics of the various Final Fantasy games while showing appreciation for every aspect from the art to the music, the gameplay to the design, and everything in between. With backgrounds in philosophy and literature respectively, these two brothers do it like nobody else and you really need to check them out.

  • A Great Podcast for FF Fans

Anytime I get a new episode of this podcast, I start it almost immediately. The guys are just laid back, talking about their favorite franchise in RPGs, and I more often than not agree with their takes on stuff, and even when I don’t know the topic, like the early games, they’re still fun to listen to. They also talk about stuff like how various games take inspiration from or have inspired other things, and I appreciate that, too.
