  • So much freedom

As a first time homeschool mom, Carole’s approach has brought so much freedom! Homeschool feels fun, simple, and sustainable - all pressure is off for me to overperform, which gives me energy to focus on the things that really matter: character, life skills, relationships, great books, faith, etc. 10/10 recommend this podcast and Carole’s seminars!

  • Unsubscribing

I’ve been following the show for quite some time and enjoyed it. However, the episode on August 4 about choosing local church concerned me and I feel like I need to unfollow it.

With all respect, I disagree with the host’s view point about “choosing a church”. It appears to me that the reason we should be a part of the local church is because “it benefits our children and our family”. The host specifically said “our children is our priority. Choose a church that benefits our children and when t... more

  • I’m obsessed!!!!!

As a former homeschooler and mom of littles who can’t wait to homeschool my own kids, I love Carole’s podcast SO much! I have been going through and listening to every single one and have gained so much knowledge and such an appreciation for literature just by listening. My mom followed her approach with us and all the time reading together as a family was so precious. I love the interviews of former homeschoolers and especially love the episodes on “preschool”. Thank you Carole for continuing t... more

289: Homeschooling Q&A: Dad Participation, Little Kid Distractions, and Navigating Screens
Q: How do I keep my middle schooler engaged in books and not the internet?
Limit screen time, keep screens in public areas, and encourage them to read by emphasizing the importance of being away from electronics.

288: When 'I'm Bored' Becomes a Good Thing
Q: Do you allow listening to something during quiet time?
Yes, if necessary, but the emphasis is on reading once a child can read independently.
