  • Missing the interesting hosts

This was my favorite podcast. Not only was this show started by journalists who represent queer and bipoc folk, but those women were interesting in their own right. The original hosts had well rounded perspectives, thorough reporting and engaging interviews. The current iteration is at best bland and at worst annoying. The perspectives are beige and the interviews are awkward. It seems like the host is making it up as she goes, often talking at the guests, interrupting them or just reiterating w... more

  • Ads and bad host

Too many ads!!! Also, Kate Lindsey is not a good host. A bit annoying and often interrupts guests to make irrelevant points (often about herself).

  • Not good without Candice!

No share to Kate, but the show doesn't work without Candice. The vibes are definitely off. This was one of my go-to pods to get a fun take on the weekly internet conversation. But it's no longer a fave now that Candice is gone.

  • Like the internet, the hosts don’t understand nuance

I enjoyed this show, until I started really listening to it. It’s not cultural analysis and yet also not really news (as they obviously don’t fact-check or research). Candice and Kate ramble and complain or trill with excitement with no actual idea how the entertainment industry (or any industry) works. There’s zero nuance allowed, just jumped-to conclusions and worst case scenarios or blind fandom. GenZ is so much smarter than this. Hey Slate, it’s totally possible to find hosts with journalist... more
