  • Always an Interesting Time

I mean this sincerely. One of the reasons I so enjoy this podcast is that each episode is different, they explore a varied range of topics about books and literature, and I always manage to add another book to my story graph that I want to read. I appreciate that they also hype up Indie press like Vellum but also that I want to join in on the conversation with them. I have to keep my notes app open so I can jot a thought down and a new book that sounds interesting. Great job and thank you for ad... more

  • Who are these people?

Was intrigued to listen to a past episode where they were going over a list of 30 books voted by the LA Times as the best of the past 30 years. However, these guys not only haven’t read almost any of them ( never read a single Philip Roth?), they hadn’t seemingly HEARD of half the books. My suggestion- maybe learn about some m... more

  • A cut above

Listened to a couple episodes and I feel like I’ve found my people. Thoughtful discussions of challenging fiction, positive masculine energy without any posturing or embarrassing “Intellectual Alpha” stuff. Professional production, no parts that I feel like skipping. Can’t wait to hear more (and perhaps even join the reading group).

Life on Books takes on the Hot Ones Challenge!
Q: What novel made you feel the most seen, and why?
I don't think that's a thing for me, but there's certainly books that connect more with people during certain times in their life.

Q: Do you ever worry you'll run out of topics to discuss?
It's a challenge sometimes, but with reading there's always stuff to talk about. Every year comes to an end, so we can always do recaps.

Q: What advice do you have for people trying to get into a strength training routine?
Do what you can with what you have, just keep it simple and start with two to three days a week of very basic movement.

Q: What is your favorite publisher as far as tactile experience while reading?
No preference on font, as long as it's size. I don't want something that's comically large or small.
Is Reading Diversely Bull****?
Q: How important is it to fill to catch up to that blind spot?
It's not very important to fill the blind spot, as they believe they will find books by women or diverse authors naturally when the time is right.
