  • 50% of episode is ads???

Listened to an 8 minute episode and I kid you not, 4 minutes of it is ads, including 90sec before the episode intro. Will not listen again.

  • Decent, but far too many ads (>50% of play time)

I just finished listening to today’s 8 minute podcast. Approximately 4 minutes and 15 seconds of it was advertisements and that’s not including the necessary fluff and introductory stuff. This podcast is now literally more advertising than it is content, which is sad to see (since I’m sure it’s necessary now).

  • Good content, too many ads

I like the quick updates but the content to commercials ratio is off. It is a short podcast but often has 4-6 ads. I get you have to raise money but seems excessive.

  • Please stop with Morgan Stanley ads! They make this podcast unlistenable!

What it says on the title. The Thoughts on the Market podcast ad being vomited on repeat is incredibly annoying, and I really don’t know why Marketplace is regularly promoting a podcast with such a gratingly annoying voice. It’s already made me unsubscribe from Morning Report, and this is next if it keeps up. It’s amazing content once you get past the terrible ads but at a certain point, I can’t handle the constant skipping.

  • An orphaned podcast in Marketplace family

With a parade of hosts, lackluster stories—some with a 1.5 minute runtime—that didn’t make the flagship program, and three ad blocs (try listening a few episodes back-to-back and you will feel that you’re listening to the same ads over and over with some tiny reporting in between) this podcast is an afterthought among Marketplace leaders and staff. I wonder why I should treat any differently.

Unraveling the complex knot of an AI-generated hoax
Q: What does it sort of say about what this new reality in our information ecosystem kind of requires of everyone?
The number one thing that I recommend to people is that when you see something online that you feel making you very angry and very outraged, that is the point where you want to be the most skeptical.

Q: At what point did this really start to kind of break down for you?
There was that moment of, this is all seeming to be too good to be true.
Unraveling the complex knot of an AI-generated hoax
Q: What struck you about this experience?
One reason why I was initially inclined to believe this source was that in the past, it would have taken a monumental effort to generate 18 pages and a fake employee badge.
The 'biohacking' trend that has tech workers experimenting on themselves
Q: What does the popularity of these gray market peptides say to you about kind of where tech culture is right now?
Jasmine Sun describes a tech culture that embraces an anti-establishment attitude, where individuals believe they can experiment with health and medicine faster than traditional institutions like the FDA.
AI is eating up the world's computing memory
Q: Is the consumer electronics memory market so concentrated?
Yes, only a few companies dominate the market, with Micron exiting consumer RAM to focus on larger data center customers.
