Economist Kathryn Anne Edwards and co-host Robin Rauzi talk about the fundamentals of the economy and how to build a better future one problem and solution at a time. Our premise is that the United States has remarkable economy — and yet for tens of millions of Americans it is not performing up to its potential. It could be more open to aspiring workers, less hostile to change, safer for workers, ... more

An essay went viral by claiming that $140,000 is what a family of four needs to just get by — a number higher than what 70% of American households earn. Conservative economists called it idiotic. Kathryn dismissed it and got a nasty DM. What’s the re... more

i’ve been working through the back catalog and will be a little disappointed when i’m caught up
Great topics and great explanations. I never expected to laugh out loud at an economics podcast but Robin and Kathryn have some great banter. One of my favorite podcasts!
I got a D in economics in college, and it was a mercy D only because I showed up to office hours with desperate questions every single week (oh the graphing, always the graphing). Since then I’ve carefully avoided the entire topic. This podcast has me feeling like I actually understand some of what drives and affects our economy AND equips me to have meaningful conversations with others. Plus I laugh out loud each episode and now use the word pilcrow every chance I get.
I have never listened to a podcast before- nothing has piqued my interest enough to figure it out. But after seeing snippets on Instagram, I wanted to figure out how to hear more. I love every episode- the history lessons and back story to every episode really give you the full picture. I also love how authentic these two are. Counting the days to season 2 and for Congress to get on some of the ideas!
Exactly what the world needs right now!
