This podcast continues to deliver thoughtful, nuanced (their hallmark) discussions of news and politics. Beth and Sarah’s personalities contribute immensely to the show’s impact: Sarah is sassy and spirited, Beth reflective and analytical. Both are brilliant, passionate and thoughtful, and also allow space for respectful disagreement. Highly recommend their premium content!
Beth is excellent. Sarah is a real challenge. She talks too much, it’s not interesting or helpful even when I agree with the pov, and her inability to stop interrupting people drives me insane. I wish they’d time her / cut her off because she’s unable to manage her role in a conversation.
These two have a talent for smart communication that is genuine and heartfelt while being informative, engaging, and encouraging for us to be more caring about each other.
That talent was most evident in their interviewing with Rep McBride who is also a wonderful person. Sarah and Beth are able to highlight problems that need to be addressed in a way that doesn't require belittling another, and Rep McBride is the same way. I hope to hear these 3 in another conversation sooner than later.
The discussion of JK Rowling shows a complete ignorance about basic biology and the need for protection of women’s sex based rights - so appallingly illinformed and gas-lighty that I doubt I’ll listen again. Should either host ever end up in prison, would they want to share a cell with a male rapist who identifies as a woman? Don’t they care about women in this situation? They are in the gender cult and I can’t take them seriously.
I’ve been an off and on listener since 2025. I finally unsubscribed after Sarah ranted and insisted that CK’s comments were taken out of context and the same could happen to her. Very disappointing to see her white privilege on display in this way. Beth is more “nuanced” but both come off as moderate centrists.
