Huge thanks to Mary, whose advice has guided my family and I for many many years now. Free, awesome learning.
Mary is almost a personal financial advisor, for me now!
Great content!
Some of us haven’t had the privilege of having been brought up with financially astute parents. I remember, as a student, being told by a bank teller that I had a lot of cash in my cheque account, and it would pay me to shift it to earn more interest. I had no idea of how banking worked, other than the motto “save some, spend some”. Mary’s words of wisdom are invaluable for people like me, trying to navigate the foreign seas of investments and interest rates.
It’s great to have NZ specific financial information, and able to learn about different concepts in bite sized segments.
When I was 19 and living in NZ I was a bit lacking in hope for my future and any idea how to change that. Thankfully I came across Mary Holms NZ herald column (back when it was free haha) and 14 years later I am in such a good place financially. Not rich but secure.
Anyway thanks Mary!
