  • Excellent

I like the level of seriousness in these talks — eg Samo Tomsic. The music is very good but unfortunately also — for me at least — a bit annoying if you are trying to listen to the talks.

  • Great, but needs better audio

Very interesting interviews, but unfortunately they are often drowned out by the “background” music, making it difficult to listen for more than ten minutes.

SD_48_Alessandra_Mezzadri-The_Scalation_of_Struggles_Social_Reproduction_and_Formal_Subsumption
Q: How do you view the relationship between value production and the myriad forms of unfreedom in contexts like India?
There are many forms of activity and domination that shape the labor experience, and these cannot be understood through the lens of labor relationships alone. The realities of social reproduction and the stigmatization of certain forms of labor add complexity to our understanding of domination in capitalist contexts.
SD_48_Alessandra_Mezzadri-The_Scalation_of_Struggles_Social_Reproduction_and_Formal_Subsumption
Q: How does labor mobility as a structural feature of contemporary capitalism fit into migration debates framed by far-right actors?
Labor migration is viewed as a fundamental aspect of capitalism, which contrasts with the far-right framing that positions it as a crisis needing control. The true issues often lie elsewhere, particularly in narratives that distract from economic inequalities.
SD46 w/Ray Brassier - Beyond Extinction Lies Communism
Q: How can we understand humanism, agency and freedom in light of your previous work on extinction?
While capitalism promotes existential nihilism, the binding of extinction suggests that a collective sense of purpose and agency can emerge through transformative practices, ultimately realizing communism.
SD46 w/Ray Brassier - Beyond Extinction Lies Communism
Q: How do you read this contemporary neo-reactionary term?
The contemporary neo-reactionary turn is a response to the exhaustion of the institutional left, and it seeks to fill the void left by the left's retreat from totalization and collective agency.
