When nerdy gamer Sam Bankman-Fried rocketed to fame as the world’s richest 29-year-old, he pledged to donate his billions to good causes. But when Sam's crypto exchange FTX collapsed, billions of dollars went missing, and Sam was in handcuffs, those who knew him were left wondering — who was Sam really? I was hoping to find a helpful counterbalance to Michael Lewis’s book ‘Going Infinite’. However this show is sensational, hyping every statement with dramatic music and emphasis from the narrator, telling you only one thing: that Sam Bankman-Fried is a bad person, without helping you to form your own opinion by telling you the facts. For a portrayal of a character a piece needs to allow you to understand them, and this fails to do this.
Very well done. Thank you! One nitpick: please nix the twitter chirps and IM beeps when quoting content from the same; so very annoying.
I love this podcast. Very well written, and easy to follow even if you know nothing about crypto. It gives you great insight into the people around SBF and their experiences with him during the rise and fall of Alameda and FTX. Well reported and well written. The vocal fry on the narrator’s part is really the only downside, and it’s not a biggie. Side note- it’s crazy how much listening to Caroline Ellison reminds me of Elizabeth Holmes.
Great podcast reviewing SBF and FTX without going too long or detailed. Very compelling

I was looking forward to the courtroom coverage, but it has been very minimal and more concerned with the reporter’s experience as a journalist than with what is being said in the trial itself. I was hoping for a podcast similar to Bad Blood about Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos but unfortunately this falls far short of that. Author Michael Lewis appears to have fallen for and remains ench... more
