  • Insightful and thought provoking

A thoughtful and thought provoking show. Mr Beinart is well informed and always brings a fresh perspective to the news. His moral compass and humility are so necessary in these dark times. My only criticism is that we can’t subscribe via the podcast app. I don’t use Substack.

Joel reflects on the personal impact of having a family member involved with the violence in Gaza and attempts to shape his critique of Israeli policy while dealing with personal grief.
Holding Liat
Q: Brandon, if I can bring you in, as you were trying to make the documentary and capture that experience, what struck you about this experience that most of us would find in our worst nightmares?

Holding Liat
Q: Yehuda, I'm sorry, because you're probably asked this so frequently to relive it, but I just wonder if you can talk about what that day was like for you.
Yehuda shares the moment when he knew his daughter Liat and son-in-law Aviv were missing and the subsequent steps taken to reach the US embassy and authorities for help.
Mahmood Mamdani
Q: When you look comparatively at national liberation movements, what could the Palestinian national movement have done differently?
Mamdani argues against indulging in criticisms of the Palestinian movement's choices while noting that the options available to them were severely limited.
Mahmood Mamdani
Q: Do you think it is possible to imagine what people talk about as a South Africa style solution in Israel-Palestine?
