  • Essential for deepening understanding

Disability & its intersections with criminalization, gender, race, & medicalization is an under explored & essential lens for both understanding our current moment & how to move towards liberation. I’ve been learning so, so much & recommend this incredibly smart podcast for everyone. Join the Patreon if you can.

  • Experimentation

Really enjoyed the show. Hope you guys can keep going for as long as possible. I also hope that you guys are following the case in Georgia of a black woman being forced to carry a baby even though she is clinically brain dead and the baby is also showing signs of abnormalities in the womb.

  • Thank you!!

This podcast has kept me sane and alive through the past five years. Without this podcast I would have fallen for the liberal gaslighting that Biden ended Covid and I would not be here today.

  • Serious education: I listen to each one twice

These Death Panel folks are providing a powerful critical examination of health policy ( such as it is) in the US. I’m always learning from them. Probably the most important pod I’ve listened to this last 12 months.

Update years later: better than ever, truer than ever.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Best of 2025: A Tribute to Alice and Leslie
Q: Is there anything you'd like to say to other folks like us, the high risk, immunocompromised, disabled people who have been four years calling attention to the interdependent dynamics of COVID?
Alice emphasizes that folks are not alone and should lean into their rage and despair, advocating collectively for their rights and against ableism.
Best of 2025: A Tribute to Alice and Leslie
Q: Why do you feel like pushing for mask mandates in health care settings in particular is an important side of struggle?
Mask mandates are a basic line of defense against disease in healthcare and should be standard practice. Alice highlights that the failure to mandate masks shows deep-rooted biases and structural inequalities in medicine.
Best of 2025: A Tribute to Alice and Leslie
Q: What are you asking people to do and can people outside of the Bay Area, California, or even outside of the United States answer your call to action?
Everyone should fight for mask mandates in health care settings, which is the bare minimum. Alice encourages listeners to advocate for mask mandates at their local hospital and share her story for collective action.
Best of 2025: Against Carceral Infrastructure w/ Mon Mohapatra
Q: Can you give folks a brief overview of what the tool is and talk about the political and organizing context that led to the creation of this resource?
The resource is particularly for organizers campaigning against carceral infrastructure, aiming to provide recommendations and examples on strengthening future campaigns against various types of cages.
Best of 2025: Born in Flames w/ Bench Ansfield
Q: Can you talk about how you see the legacy persisting in the moral imagination that governs housing, debt, shelter, tenancy, and survival today?
The legacy continues to blame tenants and displace responsibility onto those marginalized, reinforcing structural violence in housing contexts and limiting social justice efforts.
