  • Get to the point!

Daniel’s interview questions are often unbearably long. I ran out of patience after a few episodes. He just goes on and on and on with multiple layers of questions and context before letting the interviewee speak. Several hundreds words at least!

  • Education for Improving Society

Dan Denvir’s podcast has introduced me to many brave thinkers, historical events, and interesting ideas that have changed the way I understand the world. I recommend to anyone who wants to DIG in to our human histories.

Most of the 150 interviews are lengthy, and the host clearly puts in a great deal of effort to understand the guest’s work, to craft great questions, and build a great conversation meant to connect with a listener eager to learn.

  • Appreciation post

As a resident in an area of DC hit hardest, the episode with Toscano is appreciated and respected. analysis and amplification of free dc movement, bowser, and the collateral of our humans is needed on this podcast. We hear too often “we see what’s happening in dc” without proper and justified discussion on the specifics. Thanks Dan

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Three Million Doors w/ Tascha Van Auken
Q: How did you feel about the media narrative focusing on social media presence over grassroots field work?
Tascha expressed that while frustrating, she didn't feel it overshadowed the campaign's extensive field operations, as the significant aspects of field work were still being recognized more than in previous campaigns.
Three Million Doors w/ Tascha Van Auken
Q: What did you learn from your experiences in prior political campaigns that helped you approach Zohran's campaign?
Tascha noted the importance of community organizing and building relationships, which had previously informed her work on various campaigns. She emphasized that understanding the electorate and maintaining connections with them was crucial for the campaign's success.
What’s Left w/ Malcolm Harris
Q: How do we sustain the scale of subjective transformations necessary for communism to really rework the world?
We need to engage with the historical context and realities, and recognize that the need for radical change will likely emerge from crises.
What’s Left w/ Malcolm Harris
Q: What does overcoming the sort of sectarianism we see above all else on Twitter look like both conceptually and practically?
We can learn from past debates and focus on engaging in productive discussions instead of personal insults, allowing us to separate and resolve our differences in a constructive manner.
What’s Left w/ Malcolm Harris
Q: Did you always believe in the urgency of stitching together various strands of the left into one big hegemonic project, or has your thinking changed over the years?
My thinking has changed; I realized the left has a complex ideological diversity and we need to account for that. It is not realistic to expect all factions to line up behind one ideology.
