Music transcends language barriers. In this episode, I have no idea what these artists are saying, but the music is very cool and despite my verbal ignorance, I am wanting to share these sounds and tracks with you. Enjoy!
While sitting by the fire, one of the flaming wisps graced my fingertips. That short burst of pain from being burned lit the spark of this episode: Torch Songs. I've done my civic duty in past episodes around this time of year of jazz / food-related ... more

If you don’t already know folks this is the greatest jazz podcast on the planet, trust me I’ve tried em all. Thanks brotha keeping healin’ the world through the “power and majesty of jazz!”
Nathan really knows his stuff, both as a music fan and a schooled player (jazz alto sax). He's musically literate but doesn't overwhelm you with music theory -- just enough for the players in the audience to get some more insight into the tunes. His selections are well-chosen and his descriptions of them are like good liner notes. His range is impressive and he's not a jazz snob -- witness the rock-ish selections along many other genres that are more jazz-adjacent than pure jazz.
Nathan does an awesome job of curating thoughtful and unique Jazz selections that always make me appreciate the history and impact of music (let alone Jazz itself). This is a highly recommended podcast always worth the time. And, you may find yourself upgrading your headphones and home speakers to absorb Nathan’s podcasts even more. Enjoy every minute!
Good way to discover new music!
C'est magnifique! Le jazz est français. La langue française est au rythme du Jazz !
