I am (number withheld) years old. I first heard about DUNE as of one year. Team Sandworms ⏳🪱p.s. what’s in the trial 📦?
Low rate as I feel the blurb is misleading.
All valid and worthy discussion, no disagreement with the content but barely any analysis of the story, plot, characterisation or Sci Fi.
If you want a discussion of ethnicity, Arabic culture and white privilege in relation to Dune, the listen. If you don’t, then move on.
The cast seems charismatic and personable enough, but out of a 2 hour episode you’ll get maybe 30 minutes of Dune substance in between bouts of pedantic and mundane drivel. The lead can’t seem to keep the podcast on subject and often branches off into off topic nonsense or trying to develope inside jokes using inopportune curse words to come across as edgy.
Overall not a bad podcast if you can get through that, it has a ton of potential with the new movie coming out, and the break downs are go... more
Unfortunately, all discussion of the film itself is eclipsed by the guest’s misguided laments about the cultural inauthenticity of the cast for being non-Arabic, punctuated by the host’s woke virtue signaling.
Please have some respect for the property, boys! Less idle narcissism and more DUNE next time.
