A show about movies and how they connect. We love movies. We’ve been talking about them, one movie a week, since 2011. It’s a lot of movies, that’s true, but we’re passionate about origins and performance, directors and actors, themes and genres, and so much more. So join the community, and let’s hear about your favorite movies, too. When the movie ends, our conversation begins.

10/10 one of the best podcasts I’ve listened to in a while
I had lost interest in films a few years ago, and Pete and Andy single handedly (double handedly?) revived that love. Going through their library of shows, I have watched films I never would have checked out otherwise. Plus there's the added treat to hear their discourse on films I know backward and forward (even if we don't always agree). If you love film, check this one out!
I love this program. They talk about movies I’m actually interested in hearing people talk about. So many episodes on my list.
Normally a great podcast that I really enjoy. But the lack of empathy when talking about the death of a real child is just simply bang out of order. You should be a shamed of yourselfs.
It seems every episode has about 20 minutes of wasted time at the beginning before you get to the actual review. More critical the wasted time is not about the movie. It’s mostly wasted talking about nothing at all. Once you get to the movie it does get better. And the review is worthwhile to hear. So I recommend to all listeners to just skip ahead and not waste your time on their useless conversation.
This review is long overdue, because in the past year or so that I've been listening, this podcast has helped me fall in love with watching movies again. Whether it's revisiting old favourites (and learning something new about them from Pete and Andy), or discovering new movies, this podcast has everything I'm looking for: humour, passion and critical thinking. If you love talk about movies, check this one out!
Another film podcast with an uninformed host. Dime a dozen.
This is my favorite podcast which brings a whole new depth and perspective to the art of movie making, with a wonderful sense of humor throughout. It is so good that I bought the T-shirt.
Great discourse about popular and unknown movies with breaks downs and facts about each movie. A great find and perfect for movie lovers and those just getting into film
I have really enjoyed catching up and learning the different hosts....a lot of great info and discussion
Yes, please!
They’ve done like every movie ever. It’s all I’ve ever wanted.
I drive a lot for work, and am always looking for a decent podcast that talks about the ins and outs of film. I've been so disappointed because a lot of podcasts are more into slamming movies, and most are way excessive on the cussing. Then fate intervened and showed me The Next Reel. Pete and Andy have such a love and appreciation for movies. They really dig deep on each episode, to the point where they sometimes feel like an awesome film class. They are funny and play off of each other very we... more
I only found out about this podcast by reading a review of another movie podcast. I like /Filmcast, Now Playing and Filmspotting, but this one is by far the best. The good natured banter, the humour, the vast film knowledge, and the clear logical reasoning make this a standout. Neither host gets so high upon any horse that he can't be knocked off it by the other. There seems to be a genuine friendship and trust behind the intelligent analysis. I particularly love the Speakeasy episodes and the h... more
This is the most informative and entertaining podcast about films. It’s addictive and fun to listen. I listen to every episode just to enjoy the conversation between the two hosts. Love the show! The best!
