  • Horrible

Not sure what happened to NPR, but the way you guys have been handling Donald Trump’s actions and your responses to it has been very disturbing lately.

  • Deafening silence

Why don’t you cover what’s happening? The very tiny amount of Mamdani coverage is ridiculous. You people are living through history right now! Report on it! A young Muslim socialist is the incoming mayor of NYC. This is a triumph for the young left across America and NPR is barely saying *anything*. Oh, but we’re supposed to keep fighting for your funding.

  • Extraordinarily Incompetent Sanewashing

At the same time Trump is bombing Interstate 5 and tearing down the White House, these people broke their backs both-sidsing and sanewashing the White House obliteration. Key issues, completely ignored, not one word: The “Ballroom” is 90,000 feet, that’s 50 single family homesor, if you will, space for 50 New York Philharmonic orchestras OR, simply 9000 people. Bigger than the Residence and grotesquely out of proportion to the space. Much more important, the East Wing has been demolished, but... more

  • The pod keeps you up to date on the basics of the major issues in DC. The voices are friendly, and you get to know them as friends as the years roll on. If you are looking for deep deep layers of skeptical examination of all sides, this might not be for you.

  • Too short of episodes

The episodes have gotten too short. I think this podcast would benefit from long form episodes like they did years ago. These feel truncated and rushed.

Trump Offers Farmers $12-Billion Bailout To Offset Pain From Trade War
Q: What is the problem that the administration is trying to address? How have these affected farmers specifically?
The administration attributes issues to ongoing problems from the Biden administration, while in reality, the tariffs have raised costs for farmers and reduced their income due to lost markets, particularly affecting soybean prices.
Trump Offers Farmers $12-Billion Bailout To Offset Pain From Trade War
Q: Danielle, can we just talk about the nuts and bolts? I mean, how does this program work?
The program set aside $12 billion for farmers, with $11 billion allocated to row crop farmers primarily, and $1 billion for vegetable farmers. It supports farms making just over $900,000 per year and caps aid at just over $150,000 per farm.
Are The Strikes On Venezuelan Boats ‘War’ – And Do The Rules Of War Apply?
Q: Greg, can we just explain something here about how drug trafficking has been handled by the US government in the past?
Historically, the Coast Guard has handled drug trafficking by interdicting boats and making arrests without using lethal force, contrasting sharply with the military strikes being employed now.
Are The Strikes On Venezuelan Boats ‘War’ – And Do The Rules Of War Apply?
Q: What is actually happening here regarding the strikes?
The military actions are termed as an armed conflict by the Trump administration, although critics argue that no formal war has been declared. There's a discussion on the legality of these strikes and their alignment with international law.
Healthcare Subsidies Aren’t In The Deal To Reopen The Government. What Is?
Q: Are House Republicans upset because they were cut out of this, or are they upset because of some larger political calculation or something else?
House Republicans are upset mainly because they were not consulted during negotiations, leading to frustrations about the way the deal was crafted.
