I found this episode very interesting and agreed with some points, sometimes you need to get away from an abusive situation, however I found it concerning how easily some people walk away from their families. The segment about the man who had a daughter who quit speaking to him because she felt he was a helicopter parent was particularly concerning. Dear Oprah, I’m gonna say this with all my chest you need to grow up. You wanna sit here and blame the children who have chosen to go no contact with their parents and then you wanna sit here and act like it’s our fault and that we should be reaching out to these abusive Parents. You have lost your ever live in mind. The fact that you would actually try to shame people who have chosen to protect their own shows me that you only care about your money and you care about clicks.
You would think with all Oprah’s wealth she wouldn’t need ads in a podcast. C’mon girl, take one for the team, don’t make us listen to Ads, you don’t need that support…
You need to have a session with parents - this is one sided. I was so hopeful to see you bringing this to light but yet it was one sided. Makes me so sad.
Hi Oprah, thank you so much for this super important and timely episode! I really appreciate it! My son was estranged from me for less than a year last year and I’m estranged from most members of my family of origin for one and half years now , both experiences hurts me tremendously! I learned so much from this episode and it brings me peace, understanding and comfort! You impacted my life in so many ways! I’m grateful for you! I wish you well!
