  • The Karvelas Vanity Project.

This poddy is a vehicle for Karvelas monumental ego. Don’t wast your time. She’s intolerably smug, sanctimonious and obsessed with telling everyone how much she knows about politics. #yawn

  • Objectivity missing

Love the regularity and in-depth analysis of the Australian Political Landscape.

It would be even better without the policy judgements. Let’s keep the ABC for everyone.

  • Maintaining the status quo

    Broadly, I love the ABC.

But if PK and co continue to pay lip service to - or blatantly ignore - the legitimate concerns of many Australians then you have failed this country.

If you continue to ignore these concerns, and if/when populism takes hold in Australia, the ABC will have to shoulder some of the blame

  • Lack of Knowledge Will Tear us Apart

If PK loves “unknown pleasures” so much, why does she think it has Love Will Tear Us Apart on it? Disappointing

  • Come back Fran Kelly

I enjoy this podcast because I find it informative, but I really find it difficult to listen to since Mel came on board. She loves her own voice, never shuts up and talks over everyone. It is painful to listen to.

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Are politician perks a 'pisstake'?
Q: If this social media ban is going to be looked back on in 2030 years as a similar defining moment for Australia, what does the government need to do to get that right, in terms of the policy, design and the communication, and what are the political or practical risks over the coming years that could stop it from becoming kind of a legacy achievement for the country?
The government needs to ensure that the social media ban is effectively communicated, monitored for compliance, and adaptable to challenges posed by social media companies. The risks include potential failures in enforcement and backlash from big tech.
Barnaby to defect and enviro laws to pass
Q: In a cold, hard political reality, would it make sense for some women in the Liberal Party, either federal or state, to quit the Liberal Party and effectively join the Teals?
There's not that many women in the Liberal Party at the moment, federally, to quit. But there are concerns that women who should be running for the Liberal Party are being wooed and running as Teals.
Did the PM get his ideal COP outcome?
Q: Do you think the Federal Liberals ditching Net Zero will have a flow-on impact to state elections next year?
Yes, while voters can distinguish state from federal issues, the prominent federal position on Net Zero could affect perceptions of state-level Liberal parties, especially among younger voters who prioritize environmental issues.
The long road to treaty | Insiders On Background
Q: Is that an example of something where you would have more of a voice in that policy formulation?
Yes, with the treaty in place, there will be a greater level of involvement of First Peoples in legislative processes.
The long road to treaty | Insiders On Background
Q: Can you tell me about that moment and what its significance was for you?
Rubenberg described it as a powerful moment in the journey towards treaty making in Victoria, finalizing the agreement with key community leaders present.
