  • Great for US History Buffs

    In general, I really like this podcast. It’s a detailed history of the United States and doesn’t leave anything out. It’s unbiased and well-written. My main criticism is that the detail is too granular. The number of episodes spent on King Philip’s War, Bacon’s Rebellion, and Pennsylvania renders excruciating detail. There is so much to cover in US history, and I imagine a lot of historians, writers, and podcasters get bogged down in that “so much to cover” so much so that they lose perspective ... more

  • Good detailed overview but…

    This is a good overview of American history. The host brings quite a bit of lesser known historical information to the table and it’s fascinating

    A couple things- episodes every other week so it’s taken 5 years to get from Jamestown to almost the Declaration of Independence

    - being picky here but Holland is a province within the Netherlands- the words Holland and the Netherlands are NOT interchangeable

    - he doesn’t pronounce T’s…Puritans sound like Puradens
