Fun and informative. There are interesting travel stories as well as knitting tips and patterns. Jo is honest about her views, and it's all entertaining.
I loved The Shinybees podcast from the very first episode I listened to all those years ago when Jo first started podcasting. Jo always makes me laugh and is the highlight of my week and I often learn something new or end up down an exciting woolly rabbit hole. Listening to this podcast is guaranteed to cheer you up if you enjoy knitting, yarn and comedy knitting patterns.
Great down to earth happy chat with awesome English accent. Feel Good company I enjoy in the car to bring happiness to ordinary work days.
I was looking for a knitting podcast for awhile...was searching for just the right blend of entertainment + education + knitting nerd-dom. Well, if you’re on the hunt like I was, search no more! Shiny Bees covers such a wide range of topics, and provides just the right blend of “comedy + yarn in equally large measures”
Love the personal chitchat as well as the solid knitting information and advice. The odd reference to South Africa is also appreciated as it makes us feel included too! Thanks Jo.
I love this podcast. It's entertaining, and full of chat, opinions and interviews with a lot of humour. I love listening to someone who knows that not everyone finishes 16 projects a month, that sometimes people have days when they don't want to knit and that people's opinions will vary. Recently, for obvious reasons, the interviews have been less frequent, but instead we get more time to listen to Jo chat. She really creates a feeling of a knitting community supporting each other, but without t... more
I discovered this podcast recently, and I absolutely love it. I decided to start from the beginning, listening to at least one episode per day while knitting or spinning. I especially enjoy the interviews, and I have to say it’s inspiring to hear how various people in the fiber industry got started and advice they may have for anyone considering jumping in.
Jo is the friend you’d want to meet in the pub, coffee shop, hug in a pre and post covid world. She is real, funny, honest and just gets it. I’ve been a long time listener and never written a review I am ashamed to say. Her podcasts are just great. Listen and you won’t regret it. Thanks for the hard work my friend! x
I’ve been listening to “ my friend” Jo for a few years now and her episodes during the pandemic have been uplifting, enlightening and touched my heart. Thanks for the honest take on this crazy time we’re in
Hahaha got a laugh about the yoga segment! Have felt that way myself
Pleasant voice and always enjoy a listen.
I came upon Jo’s podcast earlier this year, and have just finished listening to all the episodes... loved that I could join the journey along the way. I was made aware of so much that has inspired and enriched my knitting... I have many new patterns and skeins, people to follow and skills. Jo is good-natured company, can’t wait for more episodes!
Despite being happily married (to a husband who knits!!), I find that I do have a good deal of alone time while knitting or spinning. Jo makes it like I have a hilarious friend who enjoys having a drink and a laugh with me while I'm playing with fiber. I wish I had known about this podcast sooner--I'm still working my way through catching up from the beginning, while also grabbing the newer episodes as they drop. I love every minute! As an American, I thoroughly enjoy learning about South Africa... more
