  • Unintentionally love

I found the podcast via YouTube and figured I’d browse and find a topic that was interesting. I listened to a couple episodes and it was a lot better than I had expected…. Like ALOT better. I didn’t intend on listening to more than a few episodes but now I’m working through the archive for a second time and itching for new episodes every day. You guys make sanding so much better.

  • Highly Entertaining and Informative

I love this show for its entertainment value, approachable-ness (sp?), and the insights to common woodworking conundrums that even I, a fledgling woodworker, experience frequently. Awesome show all-around and I pray every night that Marc, Shannon, and Matt never quit.

Flat sawn material is generally fine for a workbench, as long as wood movement is taken into account.
When Possible, Complicate It! - Wood Talk 591
Q: Do you have any advice for making small circles with a router table?
Use the sharpest spiral cut bit possible and start in the long grain portion of the cut to prevent tear out.
The Forklift Life - Wood Talk 589
Q: Can I run these through the planer?
Yes, making sure to check for any staples or cleats first as those could damage your blades. With regard to the oil-soaked cutting board, be cautious as it might gum up your planer.

Q: Should I try to clean up my grandfather's old handsaw or leave it alone?
I generally suggest using the tools, but if you want to preserve the personal connection, consider cleaning it while also moisturizing the handle to prevent brittleness.
