Statistically, a Jew in Canada is now 9 times more likely to be a victim of a hate crime than a Jew in the United States. How did this happen in a country known for politeness, diversity, and social democracy? Is this even a real phenomenon, or is anti-zionism being misclassified as antisemitism?

A series of self-absorbed tetchy people experience rude behaviour for the first time in their coddled lives, and conflate personal irritation with civilizational catastrophe.
Most negative reviews here are ad hominem, but if you don’t listen with pre-existing bias against the host, then you’ll hear an excellent survey and interrogation of the facts, a deep exploration of the personal, and a long overdue conversation.

loved the first few seasons of this podcast but this season's podcast of desperately trying to prove that anti-zionism is causing anti-semitism (i think an attempt to elevate the absurd argument that they are the same thing that gets pushed a lot) is full of bad statistics, bad representations of fact and a lot of tap dancing around an actual genocide that people are upset about. huge bummer that this journalist lost all ability to look at fact and reflect the second the issue became personal. ... more
Canadaland has managed to go into the center of one of the most divisive issues in recent Canadian news and actually interview people on both sides. I’m hearing things the CBC, CTV etc never revealed about how Israel/Palestine played out here in Canada. Does anybody care about how much hate people are allowing themselves to spew? The show actually gives me hope that there’s another way to approach it

The episodes primarily explore the dark and complex world of drug trafficking, focusing on the manipulative practices of a former Vice editor, Slava P, who lured young journalists into a cocaine smuggling operation that involved nearly $20 million worth of cocaine intended for Australia. In addition to the drug trade, discussions delve into the broader implications of Vice Media's corporate culture, illustrating how ambition and ethical compromises can lead individuals down dangerous paths. Episodes feature in-depth narratives, intertwining personal stories of the individuals involved, their struggles with morality, and the consequential legal and emotional ramifications they face.
